Death by caffeine

Coturnix links to a post that links to a cool toy - calculate the amount of various energy drinks you would have to drink to die from caffeine poisoning.

The list of drinks doesn't include New Zealand's favourite energy drink 'V' so I did a few calculations myself:

The LD-50 (dose of a poison that will kill half the people subjected to it) of caffeine is 150mg for each kilogram you weigh. I weigh 70kg the dose of caffeine that will probably prove fatal to me is

70kg x 150mg per kg weight = 10 500mg

Each 250mL can of V has 78mg of caffeine, so the total number of cans I would have to drink is

10 500mg/ 78mg per can = 134.6 cans.

That's about 34 litres of V and for all the caffeine to actually be present in my system I would need to drink it all at once which seems unlikely As, for that matter, does me having $270 to spend on energy drinks.

there's only a little problem with this, I drink coffee since I was a child, and I still alive, I think that maybe this is a llergic reaction in presence of coffee and other sustance, this triggered this lethal sustance and you die.
